On Remembrance Sunday each year, we take time to remember those from our founding churches, Wendover Congregational and Wendover Baptist, who gave their lives in World Wars 1 and 2. The memorial plaques above were taken from the former buildings and are on display on Remembrance Sunday.

From 2014 to 2018 Wendover Free Church paid tribute to every man on the plaques who gave their life. We researched each name to discover more about their family, occupation and service. On the 100th anniversary of each death the congregation heard about the person concerned and we held a minute’s silence in their honour.
